Training for school counselors and/or teachers is available either virtually or face-to-face from the program developers, Dr. Greg Brigman, Dr. Elizabeth Villares, Dr. Melissa Mariani, and Dr. Hannah Bowers.
Although the detailed curriculum manuals are designed to be used without training, we have found that training makes it easier for counselors and teachers to implement the programs with a high degree of confidence right away. We have also worked with school districts to develop a train the trainer model so that future trainings can be led by district staff.
Many districts use Title I: Instructional strategies and staff development, Safe and Drug Free Schools, SAI, and Local School Improvement funds to finance any of the SSS K-12 training or to purchase manuals. We are also happy to work with your school district to apply for training grants.
We are also available to consult with your school district on how to easily collect accountability data that shows that the SSS program you are using makes a difference in student academic and social performance. If your district is interested in training please email us.
